Surrendering An Animal
Prfl Rescue places a priority on taking shelter or abused Pitbulls/Rottweilers or mixes of these.
Many times, we have to turn down shelter dogs because we don't have a suitable foster home.
For this reason, we only accept owner surrenders if the following conditions are met:
1.) The dog is of sound temperment.
2.) The dog is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative.
3.) The dog is accompanied by its toys, bedding, crate, food, dishes, registration papers (if they
are available), etc.
4.) The owner is willing to either bring the dog up-to-date on its shots and other necessary
medical treatment (alter the dog if not done already) or the owner is willing to pay a surrender
fee to cover the costs of altering the dog and bringing it up-to-date on vaccinations.
5.) The owner has made reasonable effort to find a new home or returning to the breeder prior to
contacting PRFL.
6.) The owner is willing to hold the dog until a foster home becomes available, or
7.) The owner is willing to pay the costs to board the dog until a foster home becomes available.
8.) If PRFL agrees to take the dog, the owner must sign an Owner Surrender Contract with PRFL.
If you have decided to surrender your Pitbull/Rottweiler/Mix to PRFL, please contact us for the
Owner Surrender form. Owner Surrender Fee - $150.00 - $200.00. This depends on what
medically we have to do that you haven't done already.
